Corporate Counsels Philippines Law Offices (CCPLaw) was founded in May 7, 1998 by Attys. Arthur R. Ponsaran, Joaquin P. Obieta,
Tomas F. Tuason and Marie Medina-Sycangco. The Firm first set up operations at the 19th Floor of the Security Bank Building along Ayala Avenue, Makati City. Its early practice was concentrated more on corporation and securities laws, serving the needs of early clients which included a manufacturing conglomerate, a group with diversified holdings and one of the top steel manufacturing companies in the country .
The Firm steadily grew, adding more associates and bringing in more clients. With its growth, the Firm needed to expand its offices and thus transferred to the 21st Floor of the Pacific Star Building along Sen. Gil Puyat Avenue, Makati City. There, the Firm added Atty. Reginald Alberto B. Nolido amongst its partners while Atty. Marie Medina-Sycangco left to pursue her own practice. Its client base expanded and before long its practice areas extended to corporate, civil and criminal litigation, arbitration, labor, taxation, intellectual property, real estate, admiralty, public-private partnerships and others.
In 2007, the Firm acquired a condominium office in its present location at the 31st Floor, Antel Global Corporate Center, Julia Vargas Avenue, Ortigas Center, Pasig City. Three partners, namely Atty. Arsenio A. Alfiler, Atty. Ma. Julieta C. Santos and Atty. Edcel C. Bolinao, were added.
With its associates and network lawyers, the Firm now boasts of over 100 years of legal experience in various fields of practice. It provides legal services to a wide group of clients that include several publicly listed companies, local government units, government owned and controlled corporations, real estate developers, manufacturing firms, malls, recruitment firms, shipping companies, financial institutions, e-commerce start-ups, advertising companies, insurance brokers and various small and medium scale companies.
